Reproduction and Growth:
Sun Conure birds use cavities in palm trees
as nesting sites, but the details of its breeding behavior
in the wild are still unknown.
In captivity the female alone incubates the clutch of
four eggs for a month. Both parents feed the chicks.
The young fledge some eight weeks after they have hatched.
Sexing Sun Conure:
Sun Conure undeterminable
by appearance. However, you can take a guess by looking
at the shape of the bird's head. Females have a rounder
and smaller head than the male. The male's head is squarer,
with a flatter forehead.
